Coastal and marine visualization tools for the U.S. Arctic and Alaska

To date climate downscaling in Alaska has been focused on terrestrial areas. This work provides important new data relevant to offshore and coastal locations impacted by variations in surface temperature, winds, and sea ice. We have developed a quantile-mapping algorithm and applied this to daily historical fields and climate model output for the Alaska region.

SNAP and ACCAP develop data analysis and visualization tools to aid the study of interrelated systems, improve decision making, manage resources, and inform policy. Explore and analyze historical data and SNAP climate projections with this set of dynamic presentation tools.

This project is part of the Spatial Tools for Arctic Mapping and Planning (STAMP) project of the Alaska Ocean Observing System (AOOS).
