Ed Plumb supports ACCAP’s extreme events work as a Weather and Flood Specialist. Plumb is a meteorologist and hydrologist who spent nearly 30 years with the National Weather Service Alaska Region in various roles, including coastal flood and marine program manager, senior service hydrologist, and warning coordination meteorologist. He is passionate about hazardous weather forecasting, effective communication, and engagement with Alaska communities. He also has extensive flood and storm experience in Alaska and helps ACCAP research support day-to-day decision making. Plumb works to meet local, regional, and state-wide needs related to extreme events, resilience, and preparedness.
